ITINERARY
SUNDAY - Tewkesbury & Arrival at Tortworth Court
We begin with a morning departure and make our first stop in the charming riverside town of Tewkesbury. Famous for its medieval streets, traditional timber framed buildings and the impressive Tewkesbury Abbey. We then continue to the De Vere Tortworth Court Hotel, where we settle in for our four night stay with Dinner and Breakfast included.
MONDAY - Abergavenny, Monmouth, the Wye Valley, Tintern Abbey and Chepstow
After breakfast, we enjoy a scenic day exploring the beauty of South Wales and the Wye Valley. Our route includes visits to Abergavenny, a traditional market town surrounded by hills; Monmouth, rich in history and character; and a drive through the picturesque Wye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We make a brief stop at the atmospheric ruins of Tintern Abbey, before continuing to Chepstow, known for its ancient castle overlooking the amazing River Wye.
TUESDAY - Burnham on Sea, Carvery Lunch & Weston-Super-Mare
Today begins with a visit to the seaside town of Burnham on Sea, offering gentle promenades and coastal views. We then head to a local garden centre, from here we take you to a local restaurant for a delicious 2 course carvery lunch. The afternoon concludes with free time in Weston-Super-Mare, perfect for a stroll along the seafront or a relaxing coffee overlooking the bay.
WEDNESDAY - Berkeley Castle & a Taste of the Cotswolds
This morning we include admission to Berkeley Castle, one of England's oldest and most fascinating historic homes. Bursting with stories, treasures and film locations, it offers a captivating glimpse into centuries of history. Afterwards, we enjoy a short scenic tour of the Cotswolds, passing through some of its prettiest landscapes. The afternoon is yours to unwind and make the most of the hotel's facilities - perhaps a swim, a quiet drink in the lounge, or a peaceful walk in the grounds.
THURSDAY - Broadway & Homeward Bound
After breakfast, we say farewell to Tortworth Court and make a final stop in the delightful Cotswold village of Broadway, known for its honey coloured buildings and boutique shops. We then continue our journey back to the West Midlands.
Set within 30 acres of peaceful parkland and home to one of Britains finest Victorian arboretums, De Vere Tortworth Court is a magnificent Grade II* listed country house offering modern comfort in historic surroundings. The hotel features over 160 bedrooms, each designed with classic style and equipped with tea and coffee facilities, TV and complimentary toiletries. There is a restaurant, Library Bar and a full leisure club with indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa treatments (Additional fees) and fitness facilities. There is free WiFi, 24hour reception. The courtyard bedrooms have only 2 floors but no passenger lift.
