ITINERARY
FRIDAY
Lunchtime departure to the county of Lancashire and the historic Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel and Spa near Blackburn.
We soon arrive at this former Manor House - check in and unpack into your comfortable bedrooms before your included Dinner.
SATURDAY
After a hearty breakfast, we begin our day with a visit to the award-winning Bury Market-a bustling haven of over 350 stalls offering everything from fresh local produce and famous Bury Black Pudding to fashion, gifts and homeware.
Next, we journey to Bolton for a delicious lunch at the renowned Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant.
With its elegant setting and warm hospitality, Olympus serves up traditional fish and chips with all the trimmings. Enjoy light entertainment as you dine, followed by a relaxing cream tea to round off the afternoon in style.
Our day concludes as we drive back to the Mercure hotel and a relaxed Dinner with friends.
SUNDAY
A traditional Sunday Breakfast and then we travel to the wonderful Media City area of Salford Quays.
Here we include a Tour of Coronation Street - the live set of the outside Street scenes - a fantastic opportunity to see the backroom and the Rovers Return of this famous TV show.
There will also be some time to explore the other attractions, museums, restaurants and shops of this excellent complex.
We depart back to the West Midlands in the afternoon.
MERCURE DUNKENHALGH HOTEL AND SPA
An unusual hotel spreading from the original house to courtyards. All 175 bedrooms are well appointed and have full private facilities. There is a lounge bar, a leisure centre and 24-hour reception. Most bedrooms are located on the ground or first floor and not accessible by lift. Some bedrooms are courtyard rooms with external access. A historic hotel with real character situated near Blackburn.
