ITINERARY
MONDAY
We begin our journey with a lunch time departure to board our P&O Cruise Ferry for the overnight sailing to Amsterdam. Once on board, settle into your comfortable cabin before enjoying a full Buffet Dinner in the restaurant. The evening is yours to unwind with a choice of entertainment, including live music, lounges, and a selection of well stocked bars.
TUESDAY
Enjoy a tasty Breakfast on board and perhaps browse the shops for any last minute purchases before we arrive in Rotterdam. We then rejoin our coach and begin our journey into Germany, travelling through scenic landscapes as we make our way to the spectacular Rhine Valley. Our destination is the charming town of Rüdesheim, where we settle in for six nights at the ever popular Hotel Felsenkeller. Your holiday hotel provides a 3 course Dinner and buffet Breakfast each day.
WEDNESDAY - SUNDAY
There are plenty of attractions in and around Rüdesheim. You can visit one of the many castles or check out the parks, the riverside promenade and the famous self-playing music museum. Take a stroll through narrow streets or vineyard paths and enjoy the atmosphere and regular entertainment of the Drosselgasse.
We include a brilliant excursion to show you the area with a Land Train Tour of the Vineyards, a Wine Tasting and a Cable Car taking in the German National Monument overlooking the beautiful Rhine Valley.
We will also offer an optional river cruise to view some of the amazing castles along the Rhine Valley with a possible visit to the ancient town of Bacharach.
There will be an optional full day to the lovely City of Koblenz, where the mighty rivers of the Rhine and Moselle meet. Our journey will include a Rhine tour viewing the many castles and attractive villages on our way to the 'German Corner'.
We will also offer an optional tour along the picturesque Moselle Valley to Cochem, one of the most popular towns in this famous wine district.
Our June departure has the advantage of viewing the spectacular 'Rhine in Flame' in the Bingen Loch with fantastic views from the Niederwald Monument. We include an extra Cable Car ride for this brilliant firework display.
Our September departure will have the 'Rhine in Flame', taking place at St Goar. Late afternoon a wonderful Boat Cruise to take in all the dazzling array of lights, sounds and unbelievable atmosphere for both sides of the River Rhine and its Historic Illuminated Castles! On board, a traditional meal is included together with Music and majestic sights on our return journey with a late arrival back in Rudesheim. A day free the following day with Lunch included at the Hotel.
MONDAY
After our buffet Breakfast, we depart Rudesheim and travel to the beautiful city of Bruges - enjoy the lovely sights and atmosphere of this international destination. We overnight at the centrally situated Novotel where you are free to dine out and explore at leisure.
TUESDAY
A delicious Buffet Breakfast before our departure to join our crossing back to the UK to arrive in the Midlands late afternoon.
HOTEL FELSENKELLER
Perfectly situated in the pedestrian zone, yards from the Drosselgasse and backing onto the vineyards, the Hotel Felsenkeller is a 3 star tourist class traditional family run hotel used and a favourite of ours for over 40 years.
All bedrooms have private facilities, shower, TV and telephone. There is a small lounge, sun terrace, restaurant and reception. There are steps before the small passenger Lift and free WiFi.
In Rudesheim, we are not allowed to take our coach to the hotel. You will be required to walk around 150 metres, but luggage will normally be transported by hotel staff to reception.
