ITINERARY
THURSDAY
Morning departure travelling directly to the wonderful city of Liverpool.
We get you checked into the Leonardo hotel as soon as possible, then free time around the famous Albert Dock before a transfer to the Liverpool Empire Theatre.
We include tickets for the 7:30pm 'Sounds of the 60's - Hosted by Tony Blackburn OBE'.
Packed with the biggest hits from music's most iconic decade, the show - an adaptation of Tony's longstanding BBC Radio 2 Sounds of the 60s will feature live music and stories from the most iconic decade in fashion, music and pop culture. The setlist will feature fresh medleys from The Rolling Stones, The Walker Brothers, and some of the greatest soul tracks ever recorded, alongside timeless classics from Diana Ross & The Supremes, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder and much more.
Afterwards - our coach will transfer you back to the hotel.
FRIDAY
A full English buffet Breakfast before an optional tour of this famous city and the areas made famous by The Beatles.
Some free time for lunch or shopping before our 2pm departure back to the Midlands.
About the Show
An evening of 60s classics performed live by an all-star band and singers.
Tony Blackburn is of the most recognisable voices in British radio history, recently awarded an OBE in the New Years Honours list for his services to broadcasting and charity. This year, Blackburn is heading back out on the road, transforming his BBC Radio 2 Sounds of the 60s staple into a live show which will feature music and stories from one of the most transformative decades in fashion, music and pop culture.
Tonys illustrious career has seen him present on Top of the Pops, BBC Radio 1, Capital Gold, BBC Radio London and much more. His multiple awards include two Gold Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Radio, making him the first person in history to receive two of these lifetime achievement awards.
Tony is also recognised for becoming the very first King of the Jungle in the original series of ITVs Im A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. Since 2017, he has presented Sounds of the 60s on Radio 2.
